The "Rotation Diet"
Question: Does alternating your daily calories help your metabolism? For example, 900 calories one day then 1200, etc.
Answer: This is known as the "rotation diet" and was an example of a scheme designed to sell diet books. There was never really convincing scientific evidence that it worked. The rotation diet is now a distant memory, but has been replaced by the current generation of diet books. In most cases, the diets have not been tested, so the public cannot be secure that the diets are safe and work as promised.
